My work is intended to challenge perceptions and further educate people about differences specifically, disability. Society often views individuals with disabilities as unhealthy, defective, or deviant. Throughout history, people with disabilities have been mistreated and dehumanized. Even today, cultural, social, and religious beliefs continue to shape how individuals with differences are perceived and treated.
My work explores how historical disability movements are still reflected in modern societal practices. I create wearable or sculptural objects to reveal the reality of disability culture in public spaces. By presenting these pieces on the body, I aim to expose hidden experiences and bring attention to issues that are often ignored or left unspoken.
Through this creative expression, I seek to educate and spark conversations that raise social awareness about disability and the diverse ways people experience, retain, and process information.
